Belarus shares NPP construction expertise with Uzbek delegation

MINSK, 7 August (BelTA) - Belarus shared its nuclear power plant construction expertise with an Uzbek delegation, the Information and Public Relations Department of the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) told BelTA.

A meeting between representatives of Uzatom Agency and the leadership of the Belarus Nuclear Power Plant took place at the BelNPP site. During the visit, discussions covered expansion of nuclear energy cooperation, personnel training programs, technical specifics of NPP construction and commissioning, and employee welfare facilities at the plant. 

At the NPP Training Center, Uzatom representatives received a comprehensive tour featuring the full-scale simulator of the unit control room, local system simulators. They also received detailed briefings on operational staff qualification programs. During the site tour of the Belarus NPP, the Uzbek delegation received detailed technical briefings on the Generation 3+ AES-2006 design with VVER-1200 reactors. 

The Uzatom delegation visited Ostrovets to see the town infrastructure. The Uzbek representatives were shown key social and cultural facilities of the town and briefed on residential conditions for plant personnel.

Following the meeting, Uzatom Director Azim Akhmedkhodjaev signed the Belarusian NPP's Book of Distinguished Guests: “We extend our deepest gratitude to the excellent team and leadership of the BelNPP for your wonderful hospitality! We wish you great success in achieving all your objectives and peaceful skies above the plant.”
