Belarus, Serbia sign package of bilateral documents

BELGRADE, 3 December (BelTA) – A package of documents to boost cooperation in various sectors was signed after the talks between Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade on 3 December, BelTA has learned.

Four out of eight documents signed in Belgrade concern the scientific sector. These are a memorandum of understanding to develop cooperation in innovations and digital technologies, an agreement on cooperation in science and technology between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia. The list also includes a protocol of the 9th meeting of the Belarusian-Serbian commission on cooperation in science and technology.

Belarusian and Serbian scientists plan to implement ten joint R&D projects in agriculture and food, biotechnologies, nanomaterials, laser and chemical technologies within the next two years.

After the talks between the two presidents in Belgrade, the parties also signed an agreement between Belarus and Serbia on extradition, an intergovernmental program of cooperation in education through 2020, an agreement between Belarusbank and the Postal Savings Bank of Serbia on opening correspondent accounts in different currencies.
