
MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) - Belarus has received an official request for assistance from Myanmar as the earthquake struck the country, the press service of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry told BelTA.
Following the instructions of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, the ZUBR special purpose detachment of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry is preparing for deployment to Myanmar to provide help with emergency search-and-rescue operations and other urgent tasks.
This evening, the rescuers plan to depart from the Machulishchy airfield using Belarus' Defense Ministry aviation transport. A total of 66 members of the ZUBR detachment, four search dogs and four units of specialized equipment will be sent to Myanmar.
