MINSK, 17 June (BelTA) – The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) will soon draft a list of projects that might be of interest to Turkey, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov said at the negotiations with a delegation of the Turkey-Belarus Business Council under the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEİK). The delegation was led by Chairman of the Turkey-Belarus Business Council Yilmaz Soycan, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences.
Mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkey is of particular importance for the NASB, Vladimir Gusakov said. “We have a history of relations with the Turkish side. We actively cooperate with the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and the Turkish Academy of Sciences, and we signed cooperation agreements with them. Yet, we believe that our research potential is still underutilized,” he stressed. He suggested exploring a wide range of avenues of cooperation.
According to Yilmaz Soycan, Turkey is particularly interested in Belarusian innovative solutions in electric transport, supercapacitors, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.
The parties discussed cooperation prospects in innovative technologies and R&D and such areas of mutual interest as unmanned aerial vehicles, new biomaterials, including biodegradable materials, laser technologies, new varieties of agricultural crops, as well as joint monitoring and control of air pollution in Antarctica.
