Belarus' security, defense, law enforcement ready for any changes of foreign, domestic situation

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – The national security, defense, and law enforcement agencies of Belarus are ready for any changes of the foreign situation and the domestic one. State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich made the statement after meeting with the head of state on 25 February, BelTA has learned.

The state of affairs in the government agencies in charge of ensuring national security and prospects of development of these agencies were covered by Aleksandr Volfovich's report to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko among other things. The state secretary of the Security Council said that these agencies maintain a sufficient level of interaction today.

“The security, defense, and law enforcement agencies are capable of accomplishing law enforcement tasks in our country – each in accordance with its own intended purpose. They are ready for any changes of the foreign situation and the domestic one,” the official stressed.

He stated with regret that these days mutual relations between countries tend to increasingly rely on the resolution of conflicts through force. The relations involve threats and blatant interference in affairs of other countries. “Belarus is not an exception and it causes certain instability in the society,” the official pointed out.

Aleksandr Volfovich added that matters of persistent social and economic development of the country have never been more important because the stable operation of the state depends on them. “The security, defense, and law enforcement agencies play a special role: they have to ensure the stable operation of the economic and political system of the society. At present the national security system that has been created in our country can accomplish these important tasks. Our people can rest assured that we will secure their peaceful labor and a decent life.”
