MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) - Information pressure on Belarus is increasing,State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich said at a meeting with students and faculty of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
In his speech, Aleksandr Volfovich focused on topical issues of national security, the difficult situation around Belarus. "Though you work in various sectors of the national economy, still the national security depends on each of you in many respects," he stressed.
Aleksandr Volfovich recalled a well-known truth: wars are not won by armies, wars are won by peoples. Therefore, no matter how effective the military organization of the state is, it is important to stay united and ready to resist any aggression.
In addition, Aleksandr Volfovich touched upon the issues of state and military administration, spoke about the improvement of the regulatory framework in the field of security. He talked about the security of the upcoming presidential elections.
"We know that the West is also preparing for our election campaign. The self-exiled opposition continues working on the single strategy of action. There are calls for the consolidation of the so-called democratic forces. They also call to discredit the presidential election, and strengthen the sanctions pressure on our country. Information pressure on the population of Belarus is also increasing," he said. “All this once again testifies to the indifference of the fugitives to our future, the future of our children, because only a person who does not associate with the nation can wish the worst for his people. People have long understood this. The law enforcement and security agencies will do everything necessary to neutralize such challenges and threats and ensure the safety of our citizens," Aleksandr Volfovich said.
