Belarus, Russia’s Murmansk Oblast discuss cooperation prospects

MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Russia’s Murmansk Oblast was discussed at a working group meeting in Minsk on 21 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

The meeting reviewed the state of trade and economic cooperation, interaction in machinery supplies, culture and tourism.

“Today we will outline prospects for the coming year and sum up the results of the signed action plan. During visits to enterprises by the Murmansk Oblast delegation, it was noted that deliveries of Belarusian machinery to the region are underway. There is mutual interest, and we are ready to supply what is in demand for the region’s key enterprises. Plans for next year were also discussed, including prospects for deliveries of mining equipment and transport for urban needs,” said First Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Aleksandr Komendant.

He also noted that Murmansk Oblast is of interest to Belarusian tourists. Direct transport links have been established between Minsk and Murmansk. “Belarusians are flying to see Murmansk, and Belarus is also ready to offer Murmansk residents various tourist programs, including health and wellness options,” Aleksandr Komendant added.
