Belarus, Russia's Krasnodar Krai to intensify exchange of students

SOCHI, 23 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia's Krasnodar Krai plan to intensify an exchange of student teams. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Belarus' Education Minister Igor Karpenko and acting Minister of Education, Science and Youth Policy of the Krasnodar Krai Konstantin Fedorenko on 21 October, BelTA has learned.

The parties discussed possible areas to develop the exchange of student teams. Taking into account a big variety of spa resorts, Krasnodar Krai would need student teams to provide services in hotels and children's recuperation camps. The demand can also be high on agricultural and construction teams. Belarus is ready to welcome students, including with knowledge in construction, from Krasnodar Krai.

Igor Karpenko suggested to Konstantin Fedorenko to put forward a joint project on the talented youth, using the capacities of the national children's center Zubrenok and the education center Sirius. According to the minister, this could be the first step to developing a Union State program on the talented youth.

The talks also touched upon other areas of cooperation in the education sector, including personnel training, cooperation in the international movement World Skills. Konstantin Fedorenko expressed interest in developing cooperation with Belarus.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi. The forum gathered over 29,000 young professionals from more than 180 countries.
