
MOSCOW, 26 August (BelTA) – The 18th festival titled Youth for the Union State will take place in Mogilev from 5 to 8 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
“The 18th festival titled Youth for the Union State is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The festival will include a singing and dancing contests. Contestants from all regions of Belarus and many regions of Russia will take the stage, with a professional jury consisting of renowned artists and musicians evaluating their performances. The events are expected to draw up to 1,000 participants and 15,000 total attendees including spectators,” the press service said.
In addition to the singing and dancing contests, the festival program includes solemn opening and closing concerts with popular artists from Belarus and Russia, workshops by jury members, creative labs, tours to historical sites, including the Buinichi Field Memorial Complex, and various entertainment programs.
Traditionally, the festival participants will meet with deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly, members of the Youth Chamber under the Parliamentary Assembly and leaders of youth organizations and movements. Youth interactive zones will be set up, with dance evenings, flash mobs and other events also planned.
The festival has been held by the Parliamentary Assembly since 2006. The first festival took place in Anapa in 2006. From 2007 to 2019, the festival was held in Russia’s Rostov Oblast and from 2022 to 2024 in Russia’s Smolensk Oblast. In 2025, the festival will be held as part of the Youth Forum of the Union State. This year, Belarus is hosting the festival for the first time – Mogilev will be the venue.
“The festival is held with the aim of educating and fostering youth civic development in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, preserving and developing cultural potential, promoting the development of creative abilities, identifying and supporting gifted creative youth of our countries. The Youth for the Union State festival is an effective social and cultural platform for young people, contributing to closer ties between the youth of Belarus and Russia,” the press service added.
