Belarus, Russia resume railway service

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are resuming railway service on 8 February, TASS reports.

On 8 February train No. 1/2 Moscow-Minsk operated by Belarusian Railways will leave for Moscow after a long break. The return train will leave for Minsk on 9 February. After that the train will run every other day.

In line with the schedule, the train will leave Minsk at 22.10 (Minsk time coincides with Moscow time) and arrive at the Belorussky railway station in Moscow at 8.13 the following day. The return train will depart from Moscow at 22.13 and arrive in Minsk the following day at 7.26. On its way through the territory of the Russian Federation, the train will make stops in Smolensk and Vyazma.

Starting from 9 February, train No. 30/29 ‘Yantar' Kaliningrad - Moscow operated by the Federal Passenger Company (subsidiary of Russian Railways) will make a stop in Minsk on its Moscow – Minsk - Moscow part of the journey. The train will run daily, it will go in transit through the territory of Belarus.

Russian Railways will make a further notice when more trains between Russia and Belarus will become available.

The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission adopted guidelines for preventing the spread of the coronavirus infection on long-distance trains. Persons arriving in the EAEU countries must present proof of a negative COVID-19 test result issued three days before crossing the border, with the exception of children under five years old. If a passenger with a negative test result has a fever upon arrival at the border, this passenger will be placed on isolation in an infectious diseases hospital.

Passengers who will not present proof of a negative COVID-19 test result when crossing the border must be isolated in a quarantine hospital for up to two days for testing. After receiving the results, persons with a positive test result will be transferred to an infectious diseases hospital for treatment, persons with a negative test result will have to self-isolate at home for 12 days. If self-isolation at home is not possible, these persons can be isolated in specially designated rooms.
