MOSCOW, 15 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are closely cooperating in defense and security under the unprecedented pressure from the West, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Dmitry Mezentsev told reporters following the meeting to discuss the Union State programs and activities in defense and security, space and science held in Moscow on 15 February, BelTA has learned.
“In line with an established tradition, the finance ministries evaluate financial discipline in the implementation of the Union State programs and projects. The work to implement programs in defense, security, counter-terrorism, interaction of border and special services was assessed as highly efficient,” said Dmitry Mezentsev.
According to him, the utilization of funds from the Union State budget for defense and security programs stands at 99.5%. “I believe that this fact speaks louder than words. It shows that at a time when the situation in Eastern Europe is becoming more complicated, when Belarus and Russia are experiencing unprecedented pressure, we are interacting even more closely, professionally, and consistently,” Dmitry Mezentsev emphasized.
