Belarus, Russia highlight importance of protecting historical memory

MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia attach great importance to joint work on the protection of historical memory and truth, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Boris Gryzlov on 27 May, BelTA has learned.

“We jointly attach great importance to the protection of historical memory, historical truth. This is especially important in the year of the 80th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from Nazi invaders and the approaching 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. All the agreements, the work within the councils of our scientists and specialists are implemented,” Igor Sergeyenko said.

According to him, our countries need to move further in this direction. “We need to implement the proposals we receive,” the speaker added.
