MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) - The practical stage of the joint offsite conference between the defense ministries of Belarus and Russia is taking place at the 227th combined-arms training ground. The event focuses on exchanging practical experience in organizing and conducting military training activities, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense told BelTA.
"The training areas have been prepared in cooperation with Russian colleagues to cover crucial topics that need to be studied and incorporated into our training. Particular attention is given to training units to use various types of attack drones and ways to counter them. Several new tactical techniques have been developed to combat attack drones effectively. The approach is comprehensive, covering reconnaissance, suppression, physical destruction of UAVs, and the use of defensive fortifications," stated Vladimir Bely, Chief of the Central Office for Combat Training of the Armed Forces.
He emphasized that modern combat operations have moved beyond open terrain. "Today, we are demonstrating the skills that commanders need to prepare units for operations in various types of terrain, including forests, urban areas, strongpoints, and enemy positions. We are refining training exercises, approaches, and methods for army tactical shooting. We actively train shooters in closed spaces, incorporating emergency evacuation drills from damaged vehicles and preparing personnel, tank crews, and combat vehicle operators for survival on the battlefield. At our newly established training ground, we showcase techniques for knife combat training," he explained.
Vladimir Bely added that the joint Belarus-Russia conference is a platform for experience exchange. "When it comes to combat training methods, we have valuable experience to share with our Russian counterparts," he concluded.
