MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have approved the concept of the joint strategic army exercise Zapad 2025 [West]. Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin mentioned it during a joint session of the boards of the Belarusian Defense Ministry and the Russian one, BelTA has learned.
Summing up results of the session, Viktor Khrenin underlined that the organization of the strategic exercise of Belarus’ and Russia’s Armed Forces Zapad 2025 will be the key event in the training of military command bodies and army units next year.
Viktor Khrenin noted that participants of the session had also discussed the main approaches to preparing and carrying out the exercise and had approved the exercise’s concept. “There is no doubt that next year its participants will demonstrate the ability and the readiness to carry out joint tasks at an excellent level,” the Belarusian defense minister is convinced.
