Belarus, Russia announce science competition for Valentin Koptyug Prize

MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NAS) and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) have announced the 2021 edition of the competition for the Academician Valentin Koptyug Prize, BelTA learned from the NASB press service.

The prize is awarded for the best joint research, discovery, invention, or a series of joint research papers on one topic in the areas envisaged in the cooperation agreement between the NASB and the RAS Siberian Branch. Eligible for participation are teams of up to ten main authors, with each country represented by at least two scientists.

The joint works submitted to the competition shall be completed or published in the three-year period prior to the competition. Applicants are required to present the following documents: a reasoned submission with the scientific characteristic of the work, information about the cooperation between the NASB and the RAS Siberian Branch on the research, justification of the importance of the work for scientific and economic development, the original work (a series of works), three copies of discovery or invention-related materials, and information about the authors.

Applications will stay open until 19 March 2021.

The prize named after Valentin Koptyug, RAS Vice President, Chairman of the RAS Siberian Branch, a NASB foreign member, has been awarded every year since 1999 by the presidiums of the NASB and the RAS Siberian Branch.
