MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – Belarus has significantly improved the bilateral relations with Russia, its strategic ally and partner, both on the bilateral track and within the framework of the Union State, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov said during a solemn event at the Palace of the Republic to mark the beginning of the academic year at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
"By the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State, which we will celebrate in December this year, Belarus and Russia plan to sign an interstate agreement on security guarantees of the two countries. The agreement will be based on the principle of using nuclear weapons, conventional weapons, and other methods of defense of both states-members of the Union State," Maksim Ryzhenkov emphasized.
The format of the event was special: the Academy is a large and unique educational mechanism that unites different levels of education, students of different ages, highly-qualified professors, and a pool of lecturers.
Emphasizing this feature of the Academy, at the beginning of the new academic year for the first time in one hall the first-year students, who, according to the head of state, form the "golden hundred" of the Academy, and those who receive the second university degree and consequent ones, heads of state organizations and large enterprises, have gathered at the Palace of the Republic.
Among them are a total of 103 heads of bodies and subdivisions of the national security system, 30 heads of district administrations, six heads of structural subdivisions of public associations and others.
Among first-year students of 2024 are 77 gold medalists; 46 people who received 100-point certificates at the centralized exam; four winners of the Republican Olympiads; the first graduates of the School of Management.
