
MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) - Belarus and the Republic of Srpska are developing an agreement on cooperation in education, Chairwoman of the Republika Srpska Council of Peoples Srebrenka Golić told the media during her visit to Belarusian State University on 19 March, BelTA has learned.
"We are actively working on the agreement on cooperation in education between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Srpska. The relevant ministries need to thoroughly work on this document so that it can come into force," Srebrenka Golić said. "Today we have met with the rector of Belarusian State University. We hope that the agreement will be signed in the near future, allowing us to establish bilateral relations in education. We will certainly provide support to further develop our cooperation in this area."
The parliamentary delegation headed by Chairwoman of the Republika Srpska Council of Peoples Srebrenka Golić is visiting Belarus on an official invitation from Natalya Kochanova, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic, the Belarusian upper house of parliament. This decision was taken after a meeting between Natalya Kochanova and Srebrenka Golić on the margins of the Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum (in St Petersburg in September 2024).

The Republic of Srpska is an entity within the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, occupying 49% of the country under the Dayton Agreement of 1995. The economy of Republika Srpska is primarily based on industry and agriculture. The most developed sectors include the energy complex, wood processing, metallurgy, natural resource extraction, and textile production. The Republic of Srpska also has significant tourism potential due to its rich natural resources and attractions. the country offers great opportunities for mountain tourism, spa, religious, hiking, and ecological tourism. The mountains and thermal springs (spa resorts) are among the most popular attractions for tourists.
