MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to advance balanced relations with partners in various parts of the world. Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko made the statement as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine to Belarus Ahmed Mohammed al-Madbuh, BelTA has learned.
Igor Sergeyenko said: “Our country is in favor of an equitable dialog. We are ready to advance balanced relations with partners in various regions of the world.”
But, regretfully, the world order is changing today, the speaker noted. “And we see how a conflict that seemed to have been frozen (I refer to your region as an example) may rapidly transition to a hot phase, which is difficult to overcome today. Difficult to overcome rather fast at that. We see that leading international organizations are visibly unable to resolve problems while individual states are unwilling to take effective measures to resolve situations in order to stop deaths of civilians,” the head of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament stressed. “Moreover, we see that these states pursue a policy of sanctions. The policy of sanctions is gaining strength. A spiral of crises, tensions, and consequent conflict situations is actually spinning up.”
“Certainly, uniting peace-loving initiatives in tune with those Belarus offers to the world community represent the only alternative in this situation. We would like and desire the resolution of the evolving situation as soon as possible. We are in favor of getting this situation resolved as soon as possible,” Igor Sergeyenko added.
The meeting had been initiated by the Palestinian side for the sake of discussing matters of bilateral cooperation.
