MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus ratified an intergovernmental agreement on military and technical cooperation with Bolivia on 17 May, BelTA has learned.

The agreement was concluded in La Paz in July 2016 in an effort to set up a framework for cooperation between the two countries. The document will promote military and technical cooperation on a regular basis, including the supplies of Belarusian military products.

According to Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee Sergei Gurulev, the agreement envisages events aimed at the implementation of its provisions, i.e. setting up a joint committee on military and technical cooperation, concluding additional cooperation protocols, and selecting companies authorized to sign contracts.

According to Sergei Gurulev, the major areas of military and technical cooperation between Belarus and Bolivia are electronic surveillance, radio electronic intelligence and electronic warfare support.
