Belarus, Poland to adjust application of social security agreement

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Poland will sign an administrative agreement on the procedure of applying the social security agreement of 13 February 2019. The relevant decision is stipulated by the Council of Ministers' resolution No.608 of 9 September 2019, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA.

Belarus' Council of Ministers has agreed to the proposal of the Labor and Social Protection Ministry, the Healthcare Ministry, and the Finance Ministry to sign this administrative agreement.

The resolution has been passed in line with Article 11 of the law on international treaties of the Republic of Belarus and comes into force as of the day it was passed.

The social security agreement was signed when a delegation of the Belarusian parliament visited Poland. The agreement is designed to regulate matters of pensions, disability benefits, temporary unemployment benefits, unemployment benefits, and pensionable service records in the interests of Belarusian and Polish citizens. The document will allow enabling the desired level of social security of citizens in the two countries.
