KRASNODVORTSY, 29 December (BelTA) – Belarus' Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko visited Olga Klimova's family-type children's home in Soligorsk District as part of Our Children charity project in the run-up to New Year, BelTA has learned.
The prime minister had a candid conversation with the children at the New Year tree and during tea drinking.
“Even though the weather is not what you expect for New Year, Grandfather Frost comes in any weather, including when there is no snow. The most important thing is that New Year is a time when dreams come true and you can make a wish for next year,” Roman Golovchenko said.
New Year also has a long-standing gift-giving tradition. The prime minister gave the children sweets, a laptop, a computer and a multifunctional printing device. “Our country is known for its IT sector, and we live in the age of digital technologies. Therefore, I think that modern computer devices will just come in handy,” Roman Golovchenko noted. “Play less and do something useful instead,” he wished handing over the gifts. Children presented a New Year souvenir to the premier.
The Our Children charity project is taking place in Belarus from 10 December till 10 January.
