MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – There are plans to build about 5 million square meters of rental housing in Belarus within the next five years, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said at a meeting with the Belarusian president on 29 May, BelTA has learned.
“As the head of state rightly noted, rental housing is one of the main priorities for us in the ongoing five-year period. Plans are in place to build about 5 million square meters of rental housing. The main goal is to retain personnel and develop our regions. The tool for solving this task is the development of the rental housing fund, including through the annual increase of its construction,” the prime minister said.

With a view to attaining these goals, the government has worked out two draft regulatory legal acts. However, in the subsequent finalization, taking into account Aleksandr Lukashenko’s comments, they will be combined into one document.
