Belarus, Pakistan working on 2025-2027 trade promotion roadmap

MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Lukashevich met with Pakistan's Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan and Secretary for the Ministry of Economic Affairs Kazim Niaz for the sixth round of political consultations in Pakistan on 3 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting with the federal minister for commerce, who is the co-chair of the bilateral intergovernmental commission, the parties discussed cooperation in trade, economy, industry, agriculture, and the banking sector.

An agreement was reached to step up work to finalize the 2025-2027 roadmap that provides for increasing trade.

The meeting with the secretary for the Ministry of Economic Affairs focused on expanding bilateral trade and economic partnership.

The parties discussed progress to implement the protocol of the sixth meeting of the Belarus-Pakistan commission on trade and economic cooperation that was held in Minsk in January 2023. They also discussed the timing for the next meeting and confirmed their interest in facilitating contacts between the business communities and regional administrations.
