Belarus opens applications for TIBO 2021 Internet Award

MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – Applications for TIBO 2021 Internet Award have opened, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Communications and Informatization Ministry.

“The main distinctive feature of the 2021 edition of the event is the category ‘Government agencies'. Website of participants will be analyzed in line with the assessment criteria of operation of websites of government agencies developed by the Theory and Practice of Public Administration Research Institute of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus together with the Communications and Informatization Ministry and the Faculty of Journalism of Belarusian State University,” the ministry said.

This year's internet award features two new categories: “Corporate blogosphere” and “Environment and green energy”. All in all, there are 12 main categories: government agencies; education and science; information resources; corporate and subject-specific websites; promo websites and landing pages; online stores; culture, entertainment, and events; sport; health and healthcare; websites for children and the youth; corporate blogosphere; environment and green energy. “Apart from these categories, the jury can distinguish some websites for the best design, content, and convenience and present them with special awards,” the ministry added.

Applications will stay open till 16 May.

The organizers of TIBO 2021 Internet Award are the Communications and Informatization Ministry, the Information Ministry, and the Technics and Communications company. The internet award has been held in Belarus since 2003. The main goals of the contest are to facilitate the development of the Belarusian segment of the internet and the development and introduction of new IT solutions as well as to promote the best achievements of the Belarusian segment of the internet. All in all, the previous editions of the event featured around 8,000 Belarusian websites. In 2019, the organizers received 485 applications.

The 27th international forum on information and communications technologies TIBO 2021 will take place in Minsk on 1-4 June.
