MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) - A citizen of Belarus was badly wounded in a terrorist attack in the Israeli city of Jaffa, BelTA learned the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"We regret to inform that as a result of the terrorist attack on 1 October 2024 in the Israeli city of Jaffa, a citizen of Belarus born in 1997 was badly wounded," Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Embassy keeps in contact with the local authorities and the medical facility where the victim has been hospitalized. "The prognosis of doctors is currently positive," the ministry noted.
In connection with the ongoing escalation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against traveling to a number of countries in the Middle East, primarily Israel and Lebanon.
"In case of urgent need to visit the Middle East, citizens of Belarus should carefully consider the current situation, take care of their safety, monitor official notifications of aviation authorities concerning airspace and airport restrictions. This applies to all countries affected by the conflict or located in the neighborhood," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed.
Belarusian diplomatic missions continue to provide possible assistance to fellow citizens who find themselves in a difficult situation. In particular, in view of the sharp deterioration of the situation in Lebanon, the Belarusian Embassy in Syria is updating the lists of citizens living there and finding additional possibilities of assistance.
