Belarus, Moldova to develop cooperation in youth policy

CHISINAU, 9 June (BelTA) – Belarus' Education Ministry and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Moldova are set to sign an agreement on cooperation in the youth policy, BelTA has learned.

On 8 June the Government of Moldova considered the draft document on cooperation in the youth policy and approved the talks on its signing with Belarus.

Moldova's Minister of Youth and Sports Victor Zubcu noted that the signing of the agreement would promote intensification and advancement of cooperation between Belarus and Moldova in the youth policy through all-around development and education of young people, popularization of a healthy lifestyle, building up civic awareness, support of young people's initiatives and implementation of joint projects.

The youth of the two countries will also be encouraged to take an active part in the political and civil life of their states. Joint events will be organized to advance solidarity and cultural diversity, share practices, new skills, and simplify the intercultural dialogue between the nations of Belarus and Moldova.

It is expected that the five-year agreement will be automatically renewed unless the two parties decide otherwise.
