MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – The speed of climate warming in Belarus is 0.63°C in a decade, while in other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) this process is slower, the Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Rosgidromet) said in its 2020 edition of the annual report on climate change in the CIS member states, BelTA learned from the MIR 24 TV channel.
“Climate is warming the fastest in Belarus (+0.63°C in a decade) and Moldova (+0.6°C in a decade). Almost all CIS member states record the highest warming rates in spring – over +0.5°C in a decade,” the report reads.
The speed of climate warming was 0.51°C in Russia in a decade, 0.4°C in Armenia, 0.32 in Kazakhstan, 0.22 in Kyrgyzstan, 0.16°C in Tajikistan, 0.36°C in Turkmenistan, and 0.32°C in Uzbekistan.
