Belarus, Moldova interested in expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation 

MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) - On 8 May the House of Representatives hosted a meeting of the head of the working group on cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Zhanna Chernyavskaya and member of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, head of the parliamentary friendship group with the Republic of Belarus Elena Belyakova, BelTA learned.

The parties discussed further interaction between the friendship groups at the parliaments of Belarus and Moldova, outlined promising areas of bilateral interparliamentary cooperation that are of mutual interest for Belarus and Moldova.

On the eve of the Great Victory celebrations, the issues of preserving the historical memory of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War are of particular importance. The Belarusian and Moldovan MPs discussed ways to expand and strengthen the interparliamentary dialogue in this area.

“During the meeting, we discussed specific areas that we will develop in order to take our cooperation further,” Zhanna Chernyavskaya said. “These are humanitarian matters, education. Belarusian and Moldovan MPs are interested in establishing closer relations, which will help our countries to develop both cooperation in economy and other areas. Today we have identified the points of contact on which we are going to work.”
