
MOSCOW, 19 June (BelTA) - A joint meeting of the commissions on culture, science and education of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State will take place in Mir, Grodno Oblast, on 26 June, BelTA has learned from the PA press service.
“MPs will discuss the implementation of the Union State action plan dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and also proposals of relevant ministries and departments for the implementation of priority areas for ensuring the security of the Union State in culture, science and education, enshrined in the Union State Security Concept,” the press service said.
The MPs will also hear out a report on the organization of holiday and recreation activities for children from Belarus and Russia, the preparations for the 34th International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, the coordination of the Union State event aimed at the development and publication of a textbook on the history of the Union State for the students of general educational organizations, and also other issues.
Invited to attend the meeting are representatives of the Culture Ministries of the two countries, the Education Ministry of Belarus, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus.
