Belarus-Lithuania train service canceled

MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – Lithuania has announced a temporary suspension of railway service amid the COVID-19 outbreak, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarusian Railways.

Canceled trains are Minsk-Vilnius train No.801/802 (from 21 March), Vilnius-Minsk train No.804/803 and No.808/807 (from 16 March), Minsk-Vilnius train No.805/806 (from 16 March), Minsk-Vilnius train No.809/810 (from 27 April), and a nonstop carriage of the Gomel-Kaliningrad train as part of the train service No.301/359-360/100 from 5 June.

International trains of Russian Railways will transit through the territory of Lithuania without stopping at the Kena, Vilnius and Kybartai stations. This applies to Kaliningrad-Moscow train No. 30/29, Kaliningrad-Saint Petersburg train No. 80/79, Kaliningrad-Adler train No. 360/359, Kaliningrad-Moscow train No. 148/147, Kaliningrad-Chelyabinsk train No. 426/425.

Passengers can return unused tickets for canceled trains at ticket offices without paying additional fees.

E-tickets can be returned via the internet resource where it was purchased. There is no deadline for returning the tickets.

Passengers are requested to treat the situation with understanding and carefully monitor changes in the train schedule. Further decisions on when these trains are back in service will be communicated in due course.
