MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched a project on social media to mark the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, BelTA learned from the ministry.
“We invite people to learn about the Brest Fortress and the history of its defense not only through dry facts and statistics, but also through people's stories full of joys and sorrows. From 17 May till 22 June, we will post extracts from personal letters of the servicemen from the Brest Fortress and their family members sent several weeks before the beginning of that horrible war,” the ministry noted.
The project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will commemorate people who were killed in the war. “If you want to support the project and share letters written by your relatives before or during the war, please, post them on social media with the hashtag #BOB80,” the ministry said.
