MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – The training of fugitive radicals in Poland and Lithuania can be viewed as the facilitation of terrorism. Chief of the Investigative Office of Belarus’ State Security Committee (KGB) Konstantin Bychek made the statement on the air of the Belarusian TV channel ONT, BelTA has learned.
The ONT TV channel previously reported that illegal armed units recruited from among Belarus’ self-exiled opposition are being trained in Poland and Lithuania. The armed insurgents are training in order to invade Belarus and seize power through the force of arms.
“The [State Security] Committee has analyzed and collated all the data testifying to the terrorist nature of this activity. This is why the Supreme Court has ruled to recognize these cells as a terrorist organization,” Konstantin Bychek said.
This is why, the chief of the KGB Investigative Office stressed, individual government agencies of Poland and Lithuania should keep in mind that their activities can be construed as the facilitation of terrorism.
