MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Oleg Andreichik met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kenya to the Russian Federation Benson Henry Ouma Ogutu, who is in charge of cooperation with Belarus, BelTA learned from the National Tourism Agency.

“Today's meeting will contribute to the establishment of cooperation between our countries in tourism and sport. Kenya is one of the most developed countries in East Africa, including its achievements in tourism and sports. At the Olympic Games, Kenyan athletes won 25 medals in athletics and boxing. Kenyan middle and long distance runners who train at local bases in high altitude conditions are particularly renowned across the globe. The tourism industry makes up a significant part of the country’s GDP. Today we have agreed to work out in detail a roadmap of mutually beneficial cooperation for the coming years. The document will focus on personnel training, sports science and medicine, exchange of delegations for participation in competitions and preparation for them, promotion of tourism potential of the two countries and much more,” Oleg Andreichik said.

Attending the meeting on Belarus’ behalf were Dmitry Morozov, Director of the National Tourism Agency, Irina Melgui, Head of the Marketing and Quality of Tourism Services Division of the Tourism Department of the Sport and Tourism Ministry, and Top-Tour Director Ivan Chura.
