
MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – Belarus is taking part in the Russian Cinema Night 2025 campaign, which will last until 27 August, the organizers of the event told BelTA.
The Cinema Night campaign invites hundreds of thousands of viewers in Russia and abroad to the big screen. This year, audiences will enjoy the family fantasy “The Wizard of the Emerald City. The Yellow Brick Road”, which offers a fresh take on the familiar story of Ellie and her loyal dog Toto; the war drama “Blood Type” about young pioneers in Nazi captivity; and the musical biopic “The Prophet: The Story of Alexander Pushkin”, which tells the story of how the great poet met his muse.
Last year the event brought together guests from 14 CIS and BRICS countries. This year the celebration has expanded to 37 states. For the second year in a row, China, India, Brazil, Ethiopia, Egypt, and all CIS countries are taking part. Newcomers include Hungary, the UAE, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, South Africa, Indonesia, Serbia, Slovakia, Angola, Djibouti, and Mauritius.
The campaign is organized with the support of Russia’s Culture Ministry and Foreign Affairs Ministry. As for Belarus, the participating institutions include the Russian House in Minsk, the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, the Russian Houses in Gomel and Brest, the District House of Culture in Shklov, the District Leisure Center in Kirovsk, and others.
