Belarus, Japan seek to expand cooperation between educational institutions

MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) – Belarus' Ambassador to Japan Ruslan Yesin met with Uetomi Toshinobu, President of the Research and Training Institute at the Ministry of Justice of Japan, on 17 March, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Tokyo.

This Japanese educational institution runs training and retraining programs for personnel for the justice authorities, including migration specialists.

Consideration was given to the possibility of establishing inter-university cooperation. The meeting was also attended by an assistant to the deputy minister of justice who hailed the effective cooperation between the two countries in tackling the consequences of natural and man-made disasters, and welcomed further expansion of cooperation between educational institutions in Belarus and Japan.

Ambassador Ruslan Yesin invited representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Research and Training Institute to visit Belarus in the autumn of 2021 to get familiar with Belarus' experience in countering illegal migration and applying modern approaches in the new epidemiological conditions.
