Belarus is ready to help with restoration of Russia’s Kursk Oblast damaged by Ukraine attacks

KURSK, 13 November (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to help with restoration of the border areas of Russia’s Kursk Oblast damaged by attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik said during a meeting with Governor of the Russian region Alexander Khinshtein in Kursk on 13 November, BelTA has learned.

“I could not help but come to your region; we have a special relationship with your region. Understanding what is happening on your territory today, I assure you that the entire Republic of Belarus is there for you. One of the topics is how Belarus can help with the restoration of the affected areas as quickly as possible,” Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik said.

Before the negotiations, the ambassador went to inspect a multi-story residential building in Kursk constructed by Belarusian specialists. “The quality is quite good, and the housing is absolutely affordable. I wanted to discuss with you the possibility of Belarusians participating in the construction of kindergartens, schools, and other social facilities. We have extensive experience in this: in Voronezh, Kaluga, and other regions. And each project is unique in its own way, both in terms of cost and financial support mechanisms,” he said addressing the governor.

According to the ambassador, Belarus is ready to offer various financial mechanisms for the supply of construction materials, road, utility, and passenger vehicles. Furthermore, the ambassador did not rule out the possibility of developing customized mechanisms specifically for Kursk Oblast.

The ambassador also invited the governor of Kursk Oblast to visit Belarus.

In addition to the construction site Belarusian Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik visited two large shopping centers where Belarusian food products, footwear, cosmetics, and furniture are widely available. He inquired about the prices of Belarusian goods, their supply channels to Kursk retail and customer feedback. The ambassador also visited a number of enterprises in Kursk that cooperate with partners in Belarus. He also laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in the Kursk Bulge memorial complex.
