
MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) - A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus and the Iran National Standards Organization during the official visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Belarus, BelTA has learned from the press service of the State Standardization Committee.
The memorandum reflects the parties' intention to develop cooperation in the fields of standardization, metrology, conformity assessment, training, and the exchange of information and experience, which was established in 2006.
National bodies for standardization, metrology, and conformity assessment will collaborate, including within the framework of the relevant international organizations.
One of the priorities of cooperation is the harmonization of technical requirements and conformity assessment procedures.
Specialists from both countries will also exchange experiences, conduct joint training programs, and participate in conferences, meetings, seminars, and exhibitions.
The memorandum will apply to products mutually supplied by Iran and Belarus if they are manufactured in the territories of these states and comply with the international standards and other agreed norms.
The memorandum aims to enhance and maintain mutual trust, eliminate technical barriers to trade, and develop economic interaction based on mutual interests.
It is also worth noting that the framework of Belarus-Iran cooperation also includes a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of halal and in the area of accreditation.
