Belarus, Iran to develop cooperation in forestry

MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) - Belarus and Iran will develop cooperation in the forestry sector. A corresponding agreement was signed at the Palace of Independence on 20 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Forestry Ministry.

The memorandum was signed by Belarusian Forestry Minister Aleksandr Kulik and Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade Mohammad Atabak.

The memorandum states that the parties intend to develop mutually beneficial long-term cooperation in the following key areas: sustainable forest management, development of forest policy and strategic planning, forest legislation and law enforcement, forest reproduction and protection, forest fire prevention, analysis, assessment, and forecasting of forest condition changes, and mechanization and technological development in forestry. The parties will also cooperate in forestry informatization, preservation of forest ecosystem functions, including climate regulation, scientific research, training of personnel for the forestry sector, and career guidance activities.

Cooperation will include the exchange of experience between relevant specialists, joint scientific research, scientific-practical, programmatic, and career guidance activities, internships, professional development, and more.
