MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – The Academy of the Belarusian Interior Ministry is hosting a workshop for international experts on combating drug trafficking in the ‘dark web', BelTA learned from the website of the Interior Ministry, BelTA has learned.
On 15-19 May the academy is hosting a workshop “Strengthening the capacities of law enforcement agencies of Belarus and other Eastern European countries in the fight against illicit drug trafficking, including new psychoactive substances, in the dark web”. The workshop has brought together representatives of the Belarusian Interior Ministry, the relevant authorities of Moldova and Russia, and also international experts of the Transnational Threats Department at the OSCE Secretariat and the Federal Public Service Finance of Belgium.
“The workshop is about the methods of detecting and blocking the websites with harmful content, anonymity-related issues, data encryption capabilities of dark Internet networks, and the use of crypto-currency.
During the workshop, participants pass tests and attend practice sessions designed to help them consolidate the new knowledge in the field of combating crimes in cyberspace,” the ministry informed.
The workshop is held within the framework of the implementation of the OSCE basic documents to combat drugs: the OSCE anti-drug concept approved in 2012 and the Belgrade decision of the OSCE Ministerial Council 2015 on the OSCE activities in support of global efforts in tackling the world drug problem.
