Belarus interested in construction projects in Russia’s Astrakhan Oblast

MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi spoke about Belarus’ plans to participate in projects in construction and the housing and utilities sector in Russia’s Astrakhan Oblast, BelTA has learned.

Dmitry Krutoi talked about plans to build social facilities. “The construction of three facilities was suggested by the Astrakhan side - a new residential block with the necessary social infrastructure. The Astrakhan side was informed about the projects that we successfully implemented in Russia, including projects to build schools, hospitals, kindergartens in Kaluga, Voronezh, St. Petersburg and other Russian regions. This experience might come in handy if we build this neighbourhood in Astrakhan,” the ambassador said.

Cooperation in the housing and utilities sector is also promising. In particular, Belarus is ready to participate in the Clean Water program in Astrakhan Oblast, as well as in the replacement of elevators.

“The region is consistently implementing ambitious programs. Our manufacturers are ready to take part in them on a turnkey basis. It all started with the transport reform, after that we were invited to participate in the second stage. They will announce a tender, and perhaps our manufacturers of gas engine equipment (for buses in the first place) will take part in it,” noted Dmitry Krutoi.
