Belarus intends to allow Ukrainians to attend its education institutions

MINSK, 14 July (BelTA) - The Belarusian Education Ministry intends to grant Ukrainian children the right to receive education in the countries at all levels, Belarusian Deputy Education Minister Aleksandr Kadlubay told BelTA.

Ukrainian citizens with children keep arriving in Belarus in connection with the special operation in Ukraine. "We see unprecedented pressure from the United States, the EU states. We also see that the Ukrainian government is losing real governance tools in their country. Belarus, as a guarantor of peace in the region, is interested in the speedy settlement of the conflict," Aleksandr Kadlubay said. “We are working on an amendment to grant Ukrainian children the right to study in our educational institutions. Now work is underway to amend Decree No. 420, which will take into account and regulate these issues."

"Regional education departments are closely monitoring the situation and are ready to take all necessary measures so that children who arrive in our country have an opportunity to receive high-quality education from 1 September. If the situation worsens, the Education Ministry will be ready initiate the regulations in the Union State to provide minors with everything necessary for attending our educational institutions," the deputy minister said.

He also noted that the country's educational institutions are actively preparing for the new academic year. "Maintenance plans prepared in advance are now being carried out throughout the country, so that by 1 September schools, preschools and vocational colleges are renovated and comfortable for students," Aleksandr Kadlubay said.
