MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) - Belarus and India discussed cooperation in the field of military education, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry of Belarus.
On the sidelines of the SCO Defense Ministers' Meeting, Belarus’ Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin held a working meeting with India’s Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh.
Viktor Khrenin noted that cooperation with India is one of the priorities of Belarus’ foreign policy and that the bilateral relations between the countries are built on the principles of mutual benefit and respect. “Our countries have similar positions on topical issues of international security. Belarus and India show solidarity on the need to follow the path of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve existing conflicts,” Viktor Khrenin said.
In turn, the Indian minister of defense expressed firm belief that the bilateral ties will see an even brighter future. During the 33-year history of relations Belarus and India have strengthened them and diversified the areas of cooperation.
The heads of the defense ministries took stock of the interim results of joint work in 2025, discussed ways of deepening cooperation, including in the field of military education, and agreed on a list of measures for the near future with an emphasis on the practical component.
