Belarus, ICRC sign plan of joint action   

MINSK, 18 February (BelTa) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich met with Head of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Belarus Vera Radovic, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

During the meeting the parties had a thorough exchange of views on current issues of cooperation between Belarus and the ICRC. 

The Head of the Delegation spoke about the ICRC’s work in Belarus in 2024 and the organization’s plans for interaction with Belarusian state authorities and organizations for 2025. 

The parties considered humanitarian aspects of current international armed conflicts. The parties reaffirmed the high level of mutual understanding and support for each other in addressing humanitarian issues and expressed mutual willingness to continue constructive cooperation. 

The plan of joint activities of state-run and other organizations of Belarus and the ICRC for 2025 was signed during the meeting. 

This plan is concluded on an annual basis in order to coordinate the actions of the Belarusian government bodies and the ICRC. 

The plan, in particular, envisages projects for the exchange of experience between government bodies and organizations of Belarus and ICRC experts in migrant support, on the implementation of international humanitarian law, and other issues.
