Belarus harvests over 61% of millet

MINSK, 3 September (BelTA) – As of 3 September, 14,000 tonnes of millet, or 61.5% of the area, was harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

As of 3 September, 7.884 million tonnes of grain, which comprises 6.775 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 1.109 million tonnes of rapeseed.

Farmers have harvested 35,000 tonnes of grain maize (1.8% of the target), almost 4.025 million tonnes of silage and green maize (16.3%), and 20,300 tonnes of buckwheat (41%).

A total of 42,300 tonnes of potatoes (8%), 25,000 tonnes of vegetables (33.1%), and 246,000 tonnes of sugar beet (5.6%) have been harvested.

Belarus has harvested 4.955 million tonnes of grasses (50.5% of the target).
