MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) - Economy and security must top the CIS agenda, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said at the CIS Foreign Ministers Council in Minsk on 12 April, BelTA has learned.
In his opinion, economy and security must be a priority in the CIS activity.
“Moreover, the first cosmonaut of independent Belarus has just returned from orbit, and yesterday she was awarded the Hero of Belarus title. This is the result of our successful joint project with Russian colleagues,” he said.
“Our organization consists of independent states. This is inviolable, and no one questions it. Our organization is also a Commonwealth. We have always managed to combine these two components in our work. We have always had a number of common themes, specific interests and joint initiatives of crucial importance for our countries and peoples. This is what our current agenda, aimed at creation and development, is,” Sergei Aleinik emphasized.
In his opinion, economy and security must be a priority in the CIS activity.
The minister also mentioned that the meeting was held on the International Day of Human Space Flight, which was a good reason to recall common achievements in space exploration and rejoice together at new successes.
