MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – New avenues of Belarus-China cooperation will be sketched out during today’s negotiations with the Chinese delegation. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement during official negotiations with Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang, who is in Belarus on an official visit, BelTA has learned.
Roman Golovchenko said: “I am genuinely glad to welcome you in the Belarusian land. During the meeting in Astana in July 2024 our heads of state agreed that during your visit to Belarus we will be able to discuss all the concrete matters and will be able to sketch out new avenues of cooperation. Matters of social and economic development of our countries are in our hands. I fully agree with what you said at the completion of the session of the National People’s Congress of China in March 2023. Most of the people do not constantly track the GDP growth. They are worried about routine matters: housing, employment, earnings, education, and medical care. This is why the government has to plan and has to work in accordance with wishes of the nation. I am very glad to have this opportunity to discuss the most important and sensitive issues, which are on the watch list of the president and the government of Belarus.”
In response Li Qiang noted: “Mister Prime Minister! I’d like to express particular gratitude to you for coming to the airport this morning in order to meet with me. It is very touching. I have already had the chance to visit beautiful and bountiful Belarus. Today I am once again here, in this magnificent and wondrous country and I experience special feelings.”
The realization of important agreements reached by the two heads of state is one of the main goals of the current visit of the premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China to Belarus. “It is very important for us to discuss matters of actual cooperation thoroughly and update it,” he stressed.
