Belarus deports over 3,600 foreigners for legal violations since year’s start

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – Since the beginning of this year, more than 3,600 foreigners have been deported from Belarus for violating the law, including 1,300 illegal migrants. This information was reported to journalists by the Ministry of Internal Affairs following a report from Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA informs.

The minister noted that over the past five years, the number of foreigners arriving in Belarus has tripled and continues to grow. While 514,000 arrived in the first nine months of 2021, the figure for the same period in 2025 reached 1.7 million. The number of migrant workers is also rising, increasing by approximately 50% this year compared to the same period last year.

The minister explained that foreign citizens entering the country – whether through the airport or land borders – are required to report to citizenship and migration departments for preventative briefings. “We inform everyone about the specifics of our legislation. We warn them that if they violate it, they will have to leave our country,” said Ivan Kubrakov. “As a rule, these are law-abiding citizens, the police have no problems with them.”

Nevertheless, deportations do occur. Since the beginning of this year, more than 3,600 foreigners have been deported from Belarus for violating the law, including 1,300 illegal migrants. “Everyone knows that we maintain order and discipline here; it simply can’t be any other way. If people come for vacation or work, our country is always happy to welcome them. Those who break the law, however, leave our country immediately – voluntarily or by force. Our current legislation allows us to do this. We have the migration situation fully under control,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized.
