MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) - A delegation of the Belarusian embassy in Italy laid a wreath at the memorial in memory of 200 Belarusian soldiers died liberating Italy from Nazism at the military cemetery in Montekassino, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Rome.
The event was timed to the 80th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War, in which every third Belarusian died. Speaking at the ceremony were Charge d'Affaires of Belarus in Italy Dmitry Yarmolyuk and Cassino Mayor Enzo Salera.
A patriotic-themed concert took place to mark the forthcoming Independence Day of Belarus. The performance was organized by the Belarusian Diaspora Association BellaRus.
