Belarus’ defense procurement program fulfilled in full in 2023

MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – The state defense procurement program was fulfilled in full in 2023, Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry Dmitry Pantus told reporters prior to the meeting of the board to discuss the organization’s performance in 2023 and tasks for 2024, BelTA has learned.

“We are taking stock of the work of the defense sector in 2023. I would like to point out that the year was quite difficult, even stressful, taking into account the tasks that faced the defense industry complex,” said Dmitry Pantus.

At the same time, the chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry noted that the industry performed fairy well and the tasks set by the head of state were fulfilled. “The state defense procurement program has been fulfilled at 100%. A decision was made to tap into new production fields. We have received a number of tasks and we will be working on them in the very near future. And we have already embarked on this work,” he emphasized.

According to Dmitry Pantus, the State Authority for Military Industry has a number of goals; some of them have already been achieved, others are in the works. “We have produced the Polonez-M complex within the shortest possible time and handed it to our Armed Forces. The tests of a rather sophisticated weapon, the Sapphire lightweight rocket launcher, were successful. In addition to that, the MILEX exhibition was a success, too. Despite the sanctions, it drew a great number of foreign visitors. A record number of contracts were signed," emphasized the chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry.
