Belarus' Defense Ministry hosts military delegations of China, Russia

MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) - Military delegations of China and Russia held talks with the leadership of the Defense Ministry of Belarus in Minsk on 2 July, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

A delegation of the airborne troops of the Russian Armed Forces is in Minsk on a visit. The aim of the visit is to exchange the experience in the organization of training and to participate in the celebrations in honor of Belarus' Independence Day, the defense ministry informed. On 2 July the Belarusian capital hosted a meeting between Belarus' Defense Minister Andrei Ravkov and Chief of Staff, First Deputy Commander of the Airborne Troops of the Russian Armed Forces Nikolai Ignatov. “The parties discussed the topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including cooperation between the special operations forces of the Belarusian Armed Forces and the airborne troops of the Russian Armed Forces," the defense ministry said.

On 2 July Belarus' Deputy Defense Minister Sergei Potapenko met with Chief of Staff of the Beijing Garrison of China's People's Liberation Army Liu Shixu to discuss the topical issues of bilateral cooperation. The delegation members visited the Minsk Military Commandant's Office where they met with the Chinese military.

The Chinese military delegation is visiting Belarus on 1-4 July. The Chinese military attended a function and a gala concert on the occasion of Belarus' Independence Day, visited the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War. Members of the delegation attended the 3 July parade at Minsk Hero City Stele.
